Western Canada Youth Parliament

Overview

TUXIS is a founding member of the Western Canada Youth Parliament (WCYP), and the first WCYP Session was held in the Alberta Legislature in 1983. Every second year during the May-Long weekend, the British Columbia Youth Parliament, the TUXIS Parliament of Alberta, the Saskatchewan Youth Parliament, and the Youth Parliament of Manitoba meet in one of the western provincial Legislatures for a mini Session. The Sessions are similar to our December Session, but they follow the rules and procedures of the host province. This is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded youth from across Western Canada, and to experience how other youth parliaments operate.

The next Western Canada Youth Parliament (WCYP) event is being hosted by the British Columbia Youth Parliament in 2020, and registration will open at a later date. Please contact for more information.

May-Mini Session

In the years that the WCYP Sessions are not being held, the TUXIS Parliament hosts a mini session during the May-Long weekend. The mini session is a condenssed version of our December Session, and it is a wonderful way for interested youth to experience what debate in TUXIS is like, and see if they would like to participate in our full December Session.

Our next May Mini session will take place in May of 2021, and registration will open at a later date. Please contact for more information.
